Ready to decorate a dough bowl? Here we go!
3 Easy Ways to Decorate a Dough Bowl for Spring
1. Decorate a Dough Bowl with a Wreath!
One of the easiest ways to decorate a dough bowl is by laying a wreath around the top. It’s so simple that I almost feel silly saying it, but in case you haven’t tried the easiest possible way to decorate a dough bowl, here it is!
Of course, this totally depends on the size and shape of your bowl. If you have an oval or rectangular bowl, try using a favorite seasonal garland instead!
This round bowl and wreath are from Flower and Home Marketplace. While the bowl isn’t vintage, it has a gorgeous patina and authentic look. I also love the depth because it offers a lot of styling possibilities!
To make this styling even easier, simply place a tall, spring rabbit inside! I love this one because the little basket is perfect to hold Easter eggs, flowers, or a little plant!
You can recreate this entire look! Here is what I used:
2. Decorate a Dough Bowl with a Plant!
One of my favorite ways to decorate a dough bowl for spring is by using plants. I love that this bowl is large enough to set a pretty, vintage planter inside. Pothos plants are easy to take care of and I love how the vines grow around and spill out of the bowl.
This chippy bunny is the perfect size to nestle in beside the plant for a more subtle spring and Easter look. I completed the look by filling around the plant and bunny with egg gourds. Wooden or ceramic eggs would also work perfectly!
The other must-have is a happy helper! Harrison had fun helping me with these dough bowl decorating ideas!
3. Decorate a Dough Bowl with Moss!
I love using moss for spring decorating. You can see several more ways that I used moss with dough bowls over on this post! Here is an easy and budget-friendly way to use fresh moss in your dough bowl:
- Cut a piece of brown Kraft paper and crumple it up. I like to use brown paper because if any peeks through, it just blends in and doesn’t give away your decor secret!
2. Cover the paper with moss.
3. Overlap the edges and shape it a little for a more natural look.
I added two chippy white bunnies to the middle of my bowl. Since the paper and moss aren’t a really firm foundation, they were a little tippy. No problem, though, because I added a few concrete eggs around the bowl and steadied the bunnies with them too!
Where is a good place to find dough bowls?
The bowl I used for these spring styling ideas has a beautiful, natural wood color and I love the size and shape. There are so many different kinds of dough bowls available and I always keep an eye out for them at vintage markets, antique stores, flea markets, and online too!
Whether vintage or new, dough bowls are so fun to decorate with!
- This vintage dough bowl is HUGE! It would make a great centerpiece for a big farmhouse table!
- This size is great for a regular table and the flat bottom makes it easy to decorate!
- This square one is a great size and would work well with a wreath too!
- I love the patina of this vintage bowl!
- This smaller round one is perfect for spring vignettes!
- This bowl is extra long and makes a perfect centerpiece! It also has a flat bottom for easy decorating!
If you don’t have a dough bowl, try any of these ideas with a large ironstone or stoneware bowl too!
I hope you’ve gathered some ideas here that you can use to get your own dough bowl ready for the spring season! Happy decorating!
Blessings,
Great ideas! I could get inspired if I had that handsome Harrison as a helper! ❤️❤️
I love dough bowls. I have so many vessels and some are antique.
I just don’t buy one. Maybe for the bedroom
Now that’s a plan
