Friday Favorites- Home Organization
Hello Friends,
Since I’m a teacher, I spend some time each summer cleaning out, decluttering, and organizing. This summer, we are doing a major overhaul in our girls’ room to redo closets and add functional storage for two teenage girls sharing a room! The domino effect requires cleaning out a linen closet where we store all of our games as well as removing a bookshelf from their room. Then, we needed to clean out and reorganize a closet in the game room to make room to relocate the games and books.
Here are some of my favorite tried and true organizers and organizing tools that we’ve been using for this project so far.
While I want it to all look nice, I’m going for function over aesthetics. The good news is there are some really budget-friendly ways to elevate the function AND aesthetic of your storage.
Clear Bins with Lids
Page Contents
I use these all over our home and in my classroom storage too. I’ve had most of ours for over 7 years and have repurposed them over and over!
Card Game Storage Boxes
Moving our card games to these and they look SO much better. No more ripped and falling apart boxes where we lose cards.
Board Game Storage
All of our games and game boards fit in these pouches except for one of the monopoly special editions. They save SO much space and are easy to store in a drawer instead of taking up precious shelf space. If you need them on a shelf, you can save a ton of space by using these for the games and then putting them upright in a bin or basket.
Label Maker
my favorite label maker! Easy to use and on sale for almost half off at the time of this post.
Bathroom Labels
These are the bathroom labels that I use. I also have this brand for our kitchen. They are super nice, budget friendly, and come with more options than you could ever use!
Skylight Digital Calendar
Our skylight is saving my sanity this summer already. I just put everything on there for the family and it saves 1000 questions a day. Plus everyone knows what they need to do. It’s super helpful for the school year too and helps us stay organized.
Cord Basket Organizer
This is perfect to corral the cables and looks so much better too!
Water Bottle Organizer
I added this to the kitchen storage and organization and it solves so many problems for our water bottles.
Roll Out Bins
These roll out organization bins are awesome. I have them in my cleaning/laundry closet and I’m going to add them to the “pool” shelf in the newly organized linen closet to hold sunscreen and lotions.
Over the Door Organizer
Over the Door Organizer this is an awesome organizer that can be used for so many things. We have one in the girls room where they have their cute handbags all displayed and organized. It looks nice on the back of their door and saves a lot of space in the small closet. Would also be great for cleaning supplies or toys/games too.
I hope you found some useful items! Tag me in your home organization projects! I would love to see how you are upgrading your home to be functional and beautiful.
