The spring season is so close and it’s time to start gathering simple spring decor ideas to plan the spring style for your home!  It’s the perfect time for a refresh and reset of your home decor.  Enjoy these easy and creative ways to make a big impact in your home with a touch of spring for the new season!

The spring season is almost here and if you’re anything like me, you are so ready to tuck away the heavier looks of the winter season and replace the decor with fresh spring style!  A simple spring makeover is a great way to make your room feel fresh while still keeping a house cozy and comfortable.

Today, we are going to chat about some of my favorite things for early spring home decor to bring the feeling of spring and a fresh look to your living spaces.

Since Easter is a little later in April this year, I am not quite ready to set out all of the cute bunny decor and Easter decorations.  Instead, I’ll focus first on light and bright seasonal decor with simple spring home decor ideas like decorative pillows, easy floral patterns, faux flowers, fresh greenery, and other spring accents.  To keep a cohesive look throughout our living spaces, I enjoy using a base of neutral tones and then bringing in small doses of color.

Today, we will look at several ways to add some simple spring decor ideas from the front door to the dining room table and the living room to outdoor decor with simple spring vignettes.

Actually, I really dove into answering this question over on THIS POST and I encourage you to go and read it.  Hopefully, it helps explain my process.  Even though there is no right or wrong answer, I love a little method to the madness, so to speak, and this schedule just continues to work well for me year after year.

  • February: Start slowly transitioning into spring by switching greenery and textiles, continue decluttering and organizing from January, begin the process of deep cleaning (spring cleaning) our home.
  • March: It is “go time” for all of the spring decor
  • Mid-March or depending on the date of Easter: Add simple Easter accessories and decor

Like I said, there is no right or wrong.  This just seems to to suit our home and lifestyle, as well as the natural cycle of our Florida weather.

How to update your home for spring:

As much as I love to decorate and want to refresh my home for different seasons, it is easy to get stuck in a rut when we are looking at our own homes.  As you prepare to reset and refresh your home with simple spring decor ideas for the spring season, you may want to consider the following list.  These are things that I try to focus on in my own home as I begin to add simple spring decor ideas.  Here are some simple tips to get your creativity rolling for these brighter days:

  1. Declutter, organized, and deep clean.
  2. Maintenance, such as touch up paint.
  3. Start with a decor theme.
  4. Create a focal point.
  5. Lighten the feeling of the room with texture and color.
  6. Change out artwork for a fresh look.
  7. Add fresh plants and faux flowers for a pop of color.
  8. Use baskets to contain clutter.
  9. Create a centerpiece for your table.
  10. Switch out new throw pillows and blankets.
  11. Add a wreath to the front door.

1. Simple Spring Decor Ideas for Spring Cleaning

While I have a little different approach to the traditional spring cleaning, giving your home a good, deep clean is the best way to begin a reset and refresh for any season before you start adding simple spring decor ideas.  Since I teach full time in addition to being a wife and mom, “spring cleaning” doesn’t usually happen all at once.  Instead, I try to take advantage of school breaks for bigger projects and tackle smaller zones here and there as I can.

I encourage you to not let traditional spring cleaning, or the lack thereof, keep you from enjoying a refresh of your home with simple spring decor ideas.  If every slipcover, curtain, duvet, rug, and wall had to be sparkling clean to decorate for spring, then our home would be permanently stuck in winter home decor!  Haha!

​2. Simple Spring Decor Ideas for the Front Porch

There are a few elements that I look for when I am styling my front porch decor with simple spring decor ideas.  This, of course, all depends on the size and style of your space, but I think of it in 3 basic areas.  No matter the season, I typically stick with these easy elements for porch decor.

How can I make my front porch look nice?

  1. Decorate the front door.
  2. Add simple seating.
  3. Incorporate key accessories.

One of the most fun ways you can begin to dress up your front porch with seasonal decor is to add a DIY spring wreath!  Instead of a traditional wreath, I chose a more simple solution for my spring front doors last year.

How to make an easy flower basket for your front door decor:

I started with this cute basket.  Wicker and rattan are trending for 2025, so this was an easy way to bring in a bit of that trend and still keep it a style that goes well with our home!  Plus, I can use it all year round by quickly switching out the greenery and florals!

Next, I added 3 stems of this faux eucalyptus.  I love how real it looks and the leaves have just the right amount of softness to give them a whimsical, natural look.

Lastly, to add the perfect touch of spring, I added these bunches of peonies.  They have such a great look to them and I love the varied coloration, which makes them look more realistic!  I used two bunches in each basket for a really full look.

Pro Tip: When styling florals, working in odd numbers usually works the best!  3 eucalyptus stems and 2 bunches of peonies gave me a great odd number of 5 to work with!

In addition to decorating my front doors with simple spring decor ideas, I like to add other accessories along with our rocking chairs and porch swings.

I decided to go with a more neutral color scheme that matches the exterior of our home and then add pops of color with flowers.

Since we have real bougainvillea as part of our outdoor landscaping, THESE realistic bougainvillea trees and vines are the perfect touch of cheerful color.

3. Simple Spring Decor Ideas for a Mantel

What do you decorate a mantel with in spring?

No matter what season or particular decor thread you are weaving into your mantel styling, there are several things to consider with simple spring decor ideas for mantel decorations:

  • Symmetrical vs. asymmetrical
  • Curated pieces
  • Create meaningful layers
  • Amount of objects
  • Height variation/different heights

No matter what, I always have a touch of florals or greenery incorporated into my simple spring decor ideas.  It is easy to use these with mantel spring decorations by tucking them around vignettes, adding stems to baskets, or even using framed florals on the wall over the mantel!

5. Simple Spring Decor Ideas for a Coffee Table

While we are on the subject of simple spring decor ideas in the living room or family room, let’s take a quick look at spring decor ideas for a coffee table.  Coffee tables are one of my favorite things to decorate for any season because they don’t have to require a lot of time or decor.

While it may feel tempting to lean into colorful furniture for a huge impact for the spring and summer months, you can often get just the refresh you actually need with simple vignettes on coffee tables, console or sofa tables, and dining room table centerpieces.

It is fun to decorate a coffee table for spring and a well-decorated coffee table can easily be a beautiful focal point of a spring living room.  At the same time, some simple, seasonal styling can change the look of the whole living area!

In this fast-paced world, it’s easy to fall into a trap of thinking we need new furniture, new paint, a new room layout, or even a new house to create the perfect haven.  Actually, just a simple room reset with the beauty of the season can be just the key to help me love my home all over again.  If you are someone who enjoys being creative, you can probably relate!

How do you style a coffee table for spring?

There are some staple decor pieces I like to keep on hand that you’ll often find on my coffee tables.  If you follow along with Robyn’s French Nest for very long, you’ll start to recognize decorative items in a neutral color palette that I use for almost every season with my coffee table decor ideas.  However, switching them up from room to room helps keep my decor feeling fresh by bringing visual interest to each space.

In fact, these decorative accents are likely considered common coffee table decor pieces for most people.  At the same time, you probably have at least some of these decorative items on hand if you shop your own home:

  1. Large tray or bowls
  2. Fresh or faux greenery
  3. Fresh or faux flowers
  4. Larger/taller decor piece (such as a cloche, vase, lantern, or vessel)
  5. Stack of books (either to use as a riser or pretty coffee table books)
  6. Favorite candle or battery-operated candle
  7. Seasonal object
  8. Natural elements that are in season

When it comes to simple spring decor ideas for my coffee table, I tend to stick closely to my favorite decorating “formula” for coffee table styling.  Even if I feel stuck in a bit of a decorating rut, this general method helps me create a coffee table style that brings a fresh look to the entire room!

My general formula to decorate a coffee table for any season looks like this:

  1. Base
  2. Vignette with three heights, items connected by color, style, or texture
  3. Include greenery or flowers
  4. Include one seasonal item, such as a ceramic bunny or swan for spring
  5. Use vintage books and/or pretty coffee table books for height variation and extra texture

I have had many of my spring decorative accessories for years now!  I still love using them and it is always fun to mix and match decor pieces in a little different way.

I always say that it is important to shop your own home first before going out and purchasing a bunch of new decorations.  You might surprise yourself with pieces you forgot about or you may have a creative moment where you combine accessories in a new way.  That being said, I always love to add a little bit to my spring decor collection each year!

6. Simple Spring Decor Ideas for the Kitchen

The kitchen is often referred to as the heart of the home.  In our home, our kitchen is literally in the middle of our house and is open to our family room, dining room, and other living areas.  Plus, if you are anything like me, you spend a significant amount of time in your kitchen!  Why not bring some simple spring decor ideas for a quick little kitchen refresh too?

Plus, one of the easiest ways to incorporate seasonal decor is with a spring table centerpiece.  I like to think of a spring table centerpiece as not just something fancy for the Easter dining table, but also for everyday living.  Adding a spring table centerpiece to the kitchen island or kitchen table is another way to bring a fresh start with simple spring decor ideas to these hard working places in your home!

Here are the main elements I try to add to my dining room table for spring tablescapes and table centerpiece ideas:

  • Soft texture: Tablecloth, table runner, placemats, napkins
  • Woven texture: Some kind of woven texture, whether it’s a basket or tray for the centerpiece, woven placemats, or a basket used to serve food
  • Color palette: Neutral earth tones with hints of natural elements for the spring season
  • A touch of gold: Antiqued gold or vintage brass is perfect for any elegant spring centerpiece
  • Natural elements: Fresh or faux branches, greenery, and/or a floral arrangement with faux or fresh blooms

7. Simple Spring Decor Ideas with Vintage Home Decor

Vintage decorations are a great way to bring a more curated style into simple spring decor ideas.  In fact, my favorite way to decorate is to use only pieces that I love, with a combination of old and new.  Bringing some simple spring decor ideas into your spring style with vintage pieces is not only a lot of fun, but can also be a way to add a budget-friendly element to your simple spring decor ideas too!

Here are 5 easy and inexpensive ways to add spring vintage home decor to your spring style:

How can I decorate my home vintage style?

1. Add inexpensive spring accents to vintage collections.

One easy way to get a vintage look with simple spring decor ideas is to simply add a few seasonal accents to your existing vintage pieces.  For example, on this vintage cubby, I only added one white, ceramic bunny to the vignette on the top.  That’s it!

However, adding a cute bunny is a good way to give an instant look of spring.  My vintage cottage sign, white ironstone, and fresh plants are all simple spring decor ideas that work together to create a bright look for this space.  However, all it took was one little bunny to create spring vintage home decor in the dining room!

2. Add fresh plants and flowers to vintage styling.

One great way to create simple spring decor ideas with vintage style is by simply adding fresh plants and flowers or even faux spring flowers to vintage vessels!  My favorite faux spring flowers are THESE tulips, THESE hydrangeas in different colors, and THESE cherry blossoms!  I added the beautiful tulips to the simple spring decor ideas in my kitchen this year and they are such a bright and happy way to dress up the large vintage scale that I keep on our kitchen island.

Pro Tip: Vintage vessels can be pricey but are worth investing in because you can use them in your home year-round.  Only invest in the ones you absolutely love and you’ll find that you use them more than enough to make it worth the cost!

3. Use architectural salvage for spring home decor display.

This is the time to pull out your favorite bunnies, eggs, bird-themed decor, flowers, plants, and fresh colors for simple spring decor ideas.  However, no matter what spring accessory you’re adding to your own home, you can use architectural salvage to turn simple spring decor ideas into statement pieces.

Whether you’re adding a fresh plant,  a cute bunny, or a decorative faux egg, you can add a vintage look to your simple spring decor ideas by adding architectural salvage. Architectural salvage pieces are always my favorite things to add character to any room and I hunt for them in every antique store I go into!

Literally, elevate your simple spring decor ideas with vintage patina, like this thrifted brass swan layered on a stack of books on a chippy vintage mantel!

4. Invest in vintage furniture, shopping at thrift stores, antique malls, second-hand sites, and flea markets.

Let me be clear!  “Invest” doesn’t have to to mean a ton of money.  However, vintage furniture and vintage style decor is worth investing a little more budget, some elbow grease, and some creativity and imagination!  However, great vintage furniture pieces are the backbone of vintage farmhouse decor style because they are timeless and can go with any decorating look and whatever your favorite colors may be for your home.

Our coffee table in the back living room is an antique library table with the original zinc top, with the legs shortened to make it coffee table height.  I fell in love with this table on an online auction estate sale.  We didn’t get it for a “steal” but definitely reasonable!

As you collect vintage pieces that you love, they slowly transform your home into a charming, unique space.  You can add decor pieces that you like, new or vintage, but with great vintage furniture as a backdrop, you always get that vintage home decor look regardless of the season.

5. Add chippy garden elements for spring vintage home decor.

How can I spruce up my house for spring?

Bring some of the outdoors in for some simple spring decor ideas with vintage style!  Actually, nothing says spring quite like garden accessories and organic textures.  In this back family room space, I added a chippy concrete planter to my coffee table vignette.  Of course, it’s perfect to hold a fresh plant or faux flower stems.  The concrete planter style gives it that garden vibe, and the chippy blue paint brings a touch of color, texture, and vintage character to simple spring decor ideas!

You can often find chippy, vintage garden accessories at a good flea market or antique mall!  There are even great pieces with vintage style (reproductions) at big box stores like Hobby Lobby.  Thrift stores are another great place to look for old garden tools, worn terra cotta pots, imperfect baskets, old concrete garden pieces, straw hats, and other items that come to mind when you think of spring gardening and simple spring decor ideas!
