What can you do with glass cloches?
Glass cloche domes are perfect to add around your home for regular decoration.  Then, you can have fun displaying a variety of items for seasonal decorating.  However, if you want to make your glass cloche even more interesting, try placing it on top of one of these items as a cloche base.  At the same time, if you really want to have fun experimenting with your home decor, play around with several different ideas.
You can use this list to inspire using decor you already have!
- A stack of old books
- A wooden bread board
- Architectural salvage piece
- In a wooden bowl
- In a footed pedestal bowl (THIS is a favorite!)

Easy Ideas to Decorate a Glass Cloche for Summer
Idea #1 to Decorate a Glass Cloche for Summer: Coral
What do you put under a cloche?
My go-to way to decorate a glass cloche for summer is to place it over a grouping of some pretty coral pieces. Â Sometimes, I use one large coral piece under larger cloches. Â However, I also sometimes lay a few pieces of coral together and place a glass cloche dome over them for a focal point.
Create This Look:
Another fun way to decorate with a glass cloche is to use coral is to put a piece of coral in a pretty bowl. Â I like to use some of my vintage mortar and pestles! Â Then, I place the small glass dome over the bowl.
Even if I’m using a smaller piece of coral, it looks more significant in the bowl.  At the same time, another layer of decor just adds dimension and character when you decorate a glass cloche.
Pro Tip: Creating layers is a great way to make your home decor have a more curated look. Â
Idea #2 to Decorate a Glass Cloche for Summer: Antique Books
What can you use a glass dome for?
One of the best ways to decorate a glass cloche is to take some smaller pieces of home decor and turn them into a singular focal point. Â You can do this by grouping them into a pretty vignette under a glass cloche dome.
For summer, an easy vignette idea is to combine a few old books in your summer colors (I love THESE blue ones) and a large shell.
Pro Tip: Â I find almost all of my antique books and old books at local thrift stores!
Create This Look:
- Old books (HERE or HERE)
- Large conch shell
- Extra large glass cloche, 16″ (or comes in 12″)
Idea #3 to Decorate a Glass Cloche for Summer: Pedestal Bowl Centerpiece
This was a new way I tried this summer to create a centerpiece and decorate a glass cloche and I have to say, I’m loving it!  It only took a few minutes to assemble and I’ll give you an easy tutorial with everything you need to create this exact look for a focal point too!
THIS pedestal bowl is so fun to style and decorate a glass cloche with no matter the season. However, it was just kind of sitting around last year with no special items in it. Â So, I decided to experiment. Â I still love how this easy dining room centerpiece turned out!
First, I put some brown craft paper in the dish to create a faux bottom. Â (You can use any pretty pedestal or bowl that you already have too!)
Next, I added a layer of sea shells. Â You can get really pretty ones in bulk HEREÂ or at your local craft store.
Then, I added my favorite little wood slab and a battery operated pillar candle for a little cozy summer evening glow.  I love that THIS flameless pillar candle has a timer and uses a remote so it just flickers on at dusk each evening!  You could also add fairy lights for a cozy glow if that fits your home decor better!
However, you could put anything on top of the shells. Â For example, you could even add old books and a large conch shell from Idea #2! Â (There are so many creative ideas to style up your glass cloche domes no matter the season or decor style! Â Find even more creative ideas to style a glass cloche dome HERE!)
Lastly, for the most important step, I put an extra large glass dome cloche on the pedestal.  The final result gave this dining room centerpiece have a large, significant look.  It was the perfect way to make a focal point for our dining table. You could also use it on a console table, kitchen island, or side table in your own home too!
