Notes From the Nest

I started to write “Happy October and then realized, we are a week into October already.  Can we slow down time?  I love the month of October.  There are so many fun things happening as well as all the decor and home-related things that I love sharing with you in the fall too!  We will get in as much as we can, though!

Around Our Nest:

• I won’t lie…the weekend trip LAST weekend was great.  The laundry on Monday wasn’t.  ????
• The apples we picked, however, have made perfect snacks to enjoy all week long!
• I finally found cornstalks and our porch is starting to look so cute!  Yes, I realize we are already into October, but I finally decorated my porch for fall!
• Otherwise, it is full on Thanksgiving decor around our home!  Since I don’t really decorate for Halloween, other than some cute jack-o-lanterns, I figured, why not?!  It’s feeling so cozy and I’m having fun adding and tweaking here and there.
• Between homework, tests, basketball games, music lessons, and fun with friends, our kiddos have kept as as busy as ever this week. I remind myself, though, that for all the grumbling I feel like doing about the busy-ness of this season, I am so thankful.  It is such a fun age and stage with our kids and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Around the ‘Gram This Week:

• For Tablescape Tuesday, I’m sharing a different aspect of tablescape styling each week.  This week was all about colors to use for Thanksgiving.  If you missed my post, you can catch it HERE, along with a picture of one of my favorite Thanksgiving tables!
• I finally got my kitchen all decorated for fall and Thanksgiving!  You can get a little kitchen tour HERE if you’re looking for some functional and easy ideas to give a cozy, fall style to your own kitchen.
• Friday Favorites was all about favorite Thanksgiving decor styles.  It may seem a ways off, but stores are already starting to sell out of Thanksgiving items.  It’s definitely a good time to get your tables and decor planned.  Check out THESE FAVORITES for some ideas!

Around the Blog This Week:

• THIS blog post goes into detail about 5 things I enjoy doing around our home in order to try and create a really welcoming, calm, and happy home environment for my family.  Of course, there are many more things that could be added, but this is a good list to get started with.   Hopefully it provides some inspiration for you as well!
• Even though the World’s Longest Yard Sale 2023 has ended, save THIS blog post for details and start making plans now to go next year!  It is SO MUCH FUN!

2.  Tablescape Tuesday is going to be all about convenient and easy accessories!  I’m going to be sharing 19 of my favorite things that I personally own and use for fall and Thanksgiving tablescape styling.  They are all from Amazon and are so simple to decorate with!
